Hey all,
My friend and fellow LABster Marc Hayes of Top Notch Productions and I have recently been talking about how we can join forces on some things and this led to thoughts about long term rig plans. A nice mid-sized racks and stacks set up that can be split up or used all as one is definitely in order but the question then becomes which racks and stacks. (Marc actually does have a really nice rig that could be expanded as one of our options that I’m sure he’ll chime in about later in this thread – the concern with it would be riders).
Now sure I could search and post threads (and of course I do!) but it did occur to me that we’ve never had a “Midwest” LAB get together/demofest/shootout the likes of which our contemporaries on the east coast have had and that this would be a perfect time to change that. It would be a great chance to meet with other LABsters, show off your rigs, and play with toys. It would be great to get even those without mid-sized racks and stacks to demo to come out just to meet and greet and to maybe get some ideas for their own future plans.
Obviously there is still a lot to be worked out, so here’s what we would need and have still yet to figure out:
-People to come out to this event.
-LABsters with mid-sized racks and stacks. (Think KF650 market.)
-A location (somewhere in the general Chicago area probably)
-A day on which to do it (we’re coming up on the slow time of year so hopefully more people will have some free time)
-Possibly someone good with Smaart who has a measurement rig if we want to get really scientific.
-Other thoughts?
I know this is all still a little vague but with input from all of you I’m positive that it will shape up into a great event.
Why let the Maryland group get to have the fun all the time
