Case Logos
« on: September 03, 2009, 11:22:32 PM »

I've decided it's long over due and I need to put my company name on my road cases and amp racks.  The problem is, the majority of them are Grundorf carpeted racks.  Eventually I plan to replace them all with non-carpeted cases, but they work for the time being and are close to the bottom of the list of upgrades.

The question is... has anyone found a good way to apply logos to these carpeted cases?

Eric,

Besides live audio, I also own a screen printing/sign shop.

If the logo is fairly simple, we vinyl cut using left over scraps. Transfer tape is then applied to vinyl, then applied to case.  Rub down good on rat fur, and spay paint.
Remove vinyl and your done!

Do you find that the spray paint adheres to the rat-fur very well?  I'd imagine it may rub off pretty quickly.

Thanks

Most carpeted cases I have seen have the information printed on a piece of sheet metal and screwed to the case.

Regarding the sheet metal plate screwed to the case:

One notable point is that that's not permanent, which could be a blessing or curse. Unscrew the plate, run a vacuum or carpet brush over the rat fur and it will be very hard to tell that the plate was ever there. If you ever want to sell the case, this is a definite plus (Unless your company is a household name, nobody will want a case with your name spray-painted on it), but by that same token, it means that should your gear be stolen, the thief can just remove the plate and sell the whole thing, crate and all.
