Reminds me of a GREAT nap I caught in the foam-lined lid of an Anvil baby grand piano case once, backstage and with enough wall attenuation that the band was probably only 85-90dBA.

Tired is tired.

I've taken naps under the stage-while the band was playing-several times.

I can sleep through most anything-and still keep an ear open for "issues" that might arrise.

Of course I have also driven a truck while asleep. Shocked   I'm glad I don't do that any more-it was amazing that nobody got killed-back in the day. Very Happy

I used to have one promoter who would book me for 3 gigs-back to back.  Typically we would go anywhere form 6 to 10 hours from the shop for the Fri show.  Then drive back to Atlanta for the Sat show-then another 6-10 hours for the Sun show.

This was full PA-Monitor rig and full lights-front and rear truss, par cans movers etc.  It was all in a TIGHT packed 24' truck and there were only 3 of us (because that is all that could fit in the seat).  Nobody got a real sleep break-so we grabbed a few mintues when we could.

You can't sleep while riding in the truck because you know the guy driving is just as tired as you are-so you stay awake to try and keep him awake.

As they say- you will have plenty of time to sleep when your dead. Laughing

Can I have some more talent in the monitors--PLEASE?

I've started to lose my familiarity with the whole sleep thing.  It's kinda sad when you get home from a gig, go to sleep, wake up the next morning, and the engine block of the car is still warm from the drive home "last night"

I'm on the short side, so a half pack padded cable trunk gets the job done. One show I hopped in a trunk that was right behind the  backstage access. Doors had opened, so there was a security guy standing five feet away. I flipped the lid up to go to catering and the guy almost shit himself.

I once played an entire set on upright bass waking only to walk off stage, lie down and go back to sleep.
