LED output and arrangement advice
« on: April 15, 2009, 02:54:01 pm »

Buying a bunch more LEDs for a new rig I am building.

I have used the Wiedamrk P64s for a couple of years now. They have handled things pretty well. But for my new set up I feel I need more power from the LEDs.
I plan to run 5 250W movers. 3 studio spots and 2 design spots on 30' truss. Mixed in there will be an array of LEDS for stage wash. I will have the lights at an average height of about 15'.

I am trying to get a wash of LEDs for upstage and then some special higher powered, tighter beamed LEDs to focus down stage. Would like to get the down stage leds to beam (as much as LEDs can at least) while upstage leds put out a softer edged wash. A contrast between the two is what I am going for.

So far I have come up with increasing the amount of Wiedamarks, running 4 of the Wiedamarks (183 10mm)with an Elation Stage Color (24x1W) sitting in the middle. There would be 4 bars of this layout alternating with the movers on truss. Mover, 5 leds, mover, 5 leds ect...  down the line.
Any suggestions?

Thanks John
