I agree with TIM but i don't agree that the Profile system sounds any better than a MIXRACK..we have them both and I have not heard that....

To me it doesn't make sense that the answer is Digidesign when they have the Profile MixRack system....I'm telling you it's GM...that is why Obama gave them 60 days to get it together, they can't talk about their new console offering as they want it to remain SECRET, they don't want Chrysler to do it as well...Come on it's about economic recovery, this is going to put 20-30 people to work and a handful of top exec's that stole the idea allready have got BIG Bonuses, but keep that underrap as right now everyone is still focused on AIG

You are in so much trouble...I was holding on to the GM story trying to throw them off track because it was so obvious it was EAW..who else....

Randy's already said it's not Yamaha in the other thread (at least I think he did).  Digico just released a new console, as did Allen & Heath.  Soundcraft's had a whole slew of new boards over the last few months so I doubt it's any of those three.  And no way Innovason is releasing a cheap desk...  

So it seems Digidesign is a logical guess.

Maybe logical but they just released the MixRack not long ago, maybe there is someone you are overlooking..maybe they make other things that are music involved..maybe,     and yes I can't possibly see it being innovason as a transmission card costs as much as a ls9..

Is it Roland?  They has been rumored to be releasing a bigger console....

One of the main things I look for is support.  Some of these companies you can't find a manual online, what about the latest editor or software version?

I am more in the install world, but the more consoles I have to worry about editors, software revs, learning curve, training others, the more time/money it costs my company.  I am not sure how you touring guys and companies keep it all straight...

Uli may think of another digital console but at the moment - I don't think so.

What's up with Mackie btw? Any news on that side?

Thinking Yamaha, I would love to see a PM2, something in between the PM1D and the PM5D, digicore, show-file compatible to both consoles, improved handling. That would be a possible PM5 - "killer" (strange word as consoles may not have feelings but you never know...) for a price of course...
