I'm going to have 4 days off in Spokane WA. (3/20-24)

What is there to do and where are good places to eat?

Well, not really.  I live 1.5 hours south in Moscow, make it to Spokane occasionally.  Spo-compton as it's often referred to as.  What gives you all the time off there?

Yeah... that nickname is pretty much a craigslist reference.  There are a couple of shows at the venue you guys are at a couple of days prior, including Candlebox on 3/21.  There's lots of good restaraunts in the downtown area for all kinds of tastes.  There are something like five ski resorts within an hour of Spokane.  A little too early for golf.  Ask Gary or Matt when you get there, they'll have some good suggestions.  First thing I would do is pick up an "Inlander", a local weekly, when I got there for some other ideas.  Depending on what you're into, there's stuff to do.

The weather could possibly be somewhat spring-like by then... highs possibly in the 50's or even 60's, some color just starting to reappear in the folage, maybe some or most of the snow in the city might have melted by then.

Spring skiing in the area should be excellent.  I recommend either Silver Mountain or Schweitzer:

A day trip to Grand Coulee dam might interest you:

KD Lang is performing at the Fox 3-21-09:

I recommend taking in the show, not necessarily for KD Lang (although I'd imagine the show should be excellent), but especially to check-out the Fox theater... very cool art Decco building.

If you're into building watching, the Davenport is just a couple blocks from the Fox and is also worth checking out:

There's a lot more to do in the area during the summer... but going out to eat is certainly something to do in the Spokane area in early spring.  I recommend the following resturants in the area:

1)  Luigis:  http://www.luigis-spokane.com/
2)  Tomato Brothers:  http://www.tomatostreet.com/
3)  Clinkerdagger's:  http://www.r-u-i.com/cli/
4)  Anthony's:  http://www.anthonys.com/restaurants/info/spokane.html

The view of the Spokane falls from Anthony's should be excellent that time of the year.  Speaking of which, if the Spokane Falls gondloa rides are happening, that would be worth checking out:

If you're into golf, I suspect the Spokane area ranks in the top 10 for golf courses per capita (although I don't know if any will be open that early in the season):

For shopping, the Spokane Skywalk area downtown is interesting... lots of unique shops:
