Wireless mic receiver with RS232 reporting
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:21:31 PM »

Does anyone have a model wireless mic receiver that has reporting over RS232?  I am trying to interface some with control systems so we can monitor various settings especially battery life.

While these are highly controversial products, the Sabine 2.4Ghz products are reasonably cost effective and not only have a RS232 port, but are crestron certified.

I don't mind them depending on what the 2.4Ghz spectrum is you have to work with. If the facility has an engineered high density wifi infrastructure you may run into trouble. Scratch that, you will need to coordinate with the WIFI boys because you will walk all over them and they will be pissed at you.

For what its worth,

Lectrosonics Venue system has both RS232 and USB.

More to the point though is why does it have to be RS232? You'll have more choices with USB and Ethernet.
