Yamaha IM8 Research
« on: January 25, 2009, 02:52:08 PM »

I run a sound hire business and am considering purchasing a Yamaha IM8 32 channel console, I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience running any of these mixers and what their opinions are? I cover everything from musicals and pantomimes to small music festivals and gigs and this desk seems to have everything I require in an analogue board but I haven't found too many reviews on the day to day performance. I would appreciate any feedback.

A company I work for just sold a MG series mixer, testing a IM8 as a possible replacement.
We did 2 gigs with it and don't find it a serious upgrade for the MG series. And certainly not at triple the price.

If we had to buy a desk in the same price and feature range we would stick to an Allen&Heath GL2800 at the moment.
