Right, Ivan ? Very Happy

.... and the client is just plain happy to have a line-array-shaped vessel.

-You question global warming.

You don't have to be an engineer to do that.

You don't have to be an engineer to do that.

But if you are an engineer, you don't have an excuse.

"Surveyed scientists agree global warming is real"

Something like 3% question global warming.

Quote:

Two questions were key: Have mean global temperatures risen compared to pre-1800s levels, and has human activity been a significant factor in changing mean global temperatures?

About 90 percent of the scientists agreed with the first question and 82 percent the second.

The strongest consensus on the causes of global warming came from climatologists who are active in climate research, with 97 percent agreeing humans play a role.

Petroleum geologists and meteorologists were among the biggest doubters, with only 47 percent and 64 percent, respectively, believing in human involvement.

From your own link it's only among climatologists that the percentage is that high.

I have no question the planet has a fever as it heats and cools over time. Whether man can trump the influence of solar cycles and other influences is IMO not proved beyond a questionable doubt.

I am more concerned about smokestack mercury and arsenic than CO2... since I generate CO2 and a little methane from my personal smokestack from time to time. We should certainly be prudent about how we consume resources but not silly.

Nuke power good, nuke bombs bad... they are not the same thing despite what some middle eastern countries would have us believe.

If we are causing some heating it will be minor compared to when the magnetic poles reverse in 2012  Laughing

Two versions of a common riddle:

Q. Why does a hummingbird hum?

Normal answer: Because it doesn't know the words!

Engineer's answer: Maybe it's not shielded.

“If we are causing some heating it will be minor compared to when the magnetic poles reverse in 2012”

Engineers will know enough to sail on a reversed reciprocal magnetic compass course when that happens.
