Let's think about this guys...
This cabinet is rated at 500watss RMS. So if you purchase an amp that has 500RMS, that produces 27db of gain. Look at the sensitivity which is 103 and TRUE, not some BS like some other companies. 27+103= 130db. That is only with 500 watts. By pushing 800 watts, you barley gain any output. Now if you push 1000 watts (program rating) which is not a very good idea for DJing since it is so compressed, not to mention you are really pushing that single 18" you would gain 3db from going to 500 to 1000 watts. If that is worth it to you, then you go ahead and do so. 3db is barley noticeable, and is prob not even 3db because things will start to heat up, literally at that point and stress the woofer, which probably in itself would cause another 1db loss, resulting in 2db gain. YOU WILL NOT NOTICE that and it is a lot ogf trouble just to get 2db (1000watts) so just put around 500RMS into each of the babies and you will be rocking. Those subs a freaking amazing. Best single 18 I have heard. Oh, and by the way, it does not fall off its face like some people say. The Growler will beat it at 40hertz, but as soon as 43, 44 come to playm GAME OVER all the way up. Nice sub purchase. Four of them coupled is quite impressive.
