Greetings to the accountant Wink

You could justify the $$$ by less health care cost by eliminating a lot of copper to drag around. Sure it is an investment but hey,  it's time to invest in the future, isn't it?

Compare the cost of a LS9 plus digital multicore...

Indeed I was.  Very first session.  I was the guy who just wouldn’t leave… always came back in with one more question.  Very good presentation Mike, and a VERY nice console.  I’m still in the vacillating process, trying to financially justify the purchase of a 112+48x24 over an LS9-32.  Way WAY more console, but, $$$.  My gut says “yes yes”, but my accountant says “how much?!?”

Bonne chance

Aaah… available DSP…. Hadn’t thought of that.

Glad that you’re considering putting 50Hz back in.  But how about this suggestion;  If one didn’t need “a lot” of GEQ’s (how often would you use ALL 32 anyways?)… have a command/setting where you could define the total amount of GEQ’s required for a gig.  If it was only 20 for example, wouldn’t the unused remaining 12 GEQ’s free up enough DSP to add the missing bands in the GEQ’s that are actually used?  At least add in 50Hz and 40Hz (which would amount to 27 faders)… and perhaps leave the one remaining fader (on a 112 surface) free to use as a “soft” fader to control 20, 25, 31.5 and 20k (select the band via touch screen… or whatever).

Sorta kinda like the LS9 “flex 15” idea where if you’re not using it “all”, you can at least get the DSP where you want it.

Of course, I naively suggest this without having a clue if this is even possible within the design / DSP structure.

Thanks for replying.  I can’t wait to try one out on Monday.

Grrr.... deleted my long reply.

The short version is that I disagree with Ian about having fewer full function eq's.  I think it's a great feature to have them everywhere to save on programing time and having to think about it.  A possible work around would be a global option for having either 32 25-band eq's or 32 "flex-25" eq's.
