Hi Rob,

Thanks for explaining that, I appreciate it. I'll check on the cords that run up the light trees to the power strips - I think they are S.

Best regards,

you can by those unit that are about 1 inch by 1 inch by 1inch that have 3 plugs on them (power tap or tri cube, I have heard many names for them).

2 of those and an extention cord and your happening.

I do appreciate the suggestions, but all I'm looking for is a 4 way extension cord that is like the one I pictured except 4 in a line (and black!).

Other options aren't of relevance to my question (I do have plenty of backup plans, one of them being the black power strip pictured)

If anyone does see a cord like I described, please PM me.  I'll buy you one for your trouble if you help me out!

Thanks for the replies!

(Even though I'm not a DJ, I probably should have posted on a DJ forum for a product like this.  Need a lighting "lounge" so the r ankle biter light guys don't bother the pros!)

I seem to recall outlet strips for AV carts that are molded black plastic and have 4 outlets on them.  They are very narrow and have 2 holes in them for screwing to the cart.  I'll see if I have any in the shop later.  Anybody know what I'm talking about?

oops.  only 3 outlets.  http://www.dalite.com/products/images/E-3-on-Cart.jpg
The outlet strip is actually separate from the cord winding bracket so they are quite small.  These kinds of solutions for our industry are severely lacking, I have to say.

Still rather have an extension cord w/outlets, but that's the best alternative I've seen so far.

Steve,

How about these:

I use a similar splitter for LED lighting. Works great for very low amperage loads.

Hope this helps,

Adam

Thanks for posting that. I've been looking for something similar.
I ordered a bunch.

This is how I just daisy chain the power of four ADJ par 64 led pros by simply wiring a tap to each power cord. This really simplifies setting up my light show and only uses one extension cord to each bar.index.php/fa/20334/0/

Here's another pic with all four cans wired up on a bar and in an SKB case.index.php/fa/20335/0/

Which SKB case is that? I am looking for something that would fit 4 cans on a t-bar.

That case looks great, assuming there's a way to keep the cords from bottoming out in transit and stressing out the connectors / connections.

Gotta be better than the gig bags I'm using!

Is it code to have 2 cords coming out of one plug?

Maybe it's just w/IEC plugs, but I thought 2 cords into one plug like that was somehow not kosher w/code.

(Not that my lighting "rig" is up to code.  As pointed out earlier, my #14 extension cords are not up to snuff)
