12 Labhorns! 6 of them are 5 years old, running off Plx3402's. The other 6 are 4 months old running off of Plx3602's. The New block of 6 were much more powerfull... Much Debate over why?.?. 5 year old drivers?, The Extra 100 Watts per cabinet?, probably a combination of all this. Either Way, Things sounded so good everywhere!!!  Non-stop compliments! I defend myself from the mobs of women, by referring them to the genius behind it all, Tom Danley. I say, all I did was cut up some wood and glue it together!

Yikes! Am I seeing this right: JBL SR cabs flown with I bolts drilled into the tops of them?

PS- If you bumped your power up to a PL6.0 or PL380, or even a MA5k, I'd bet you could double your output. Wink

No, Those are Yorkville U215's, The unity horn is a Danley Design....For which he does not collect royalties!! (Thanks to Ivan for pointing out.) The Eye Bolts are screwed into real Flypoints!  I wish the 15inch  drivers on the U215's were horn loaded. Not really enough punch with 12 labs and only 8 non-horn loaded 15's.  We also had some Mackie 1232's for center fills, but they were barely turned up at all.

The Unity horn is a trademaked idea developed by Tom Danley-for which he receives nothing in the way of royalties Mad Sad  .

The Unity horn is licensed from the company (or what is left of it-a po box)Tom used to work for.  The actual design of said horn is not Tom's, but rather Yorkvilles' use of the technology.

The same thing goes for  Yorkvilles new VTC loudspeakers.  They are not designed by Tom, but rather simply are licensing the technology (this time from Danley Sound Labs).

Tako Tamas's should go in the centerfold...
The most beautiful LABs I've seen.

But, is it only me... Confused
Why are all the recessed handles up-side-down?
(on the LABs as well as on the V-DOSCs)

I always install them with the bigger clearance side on top.
This leaves more room for one's wrist when grabbing to lift...

Smile

not sure why the sub handles are upside down, but V-Dosc stack upside down, so when you stack the handles are right side up.

Second: those are some damn good looking subs. is there a build thread on them?

The thread is somewhere in the old archive. I have most of the picture and they are all from that same event.
No building picture i am afraid.

Holy crap, do my eyes deceive me or is that a spy photo of Peavey's new top secret project, the "Inversarray"?

Karl Bruhn's first pair.  I hate the tiltback - give me four casters on the rear!  But he likes 'em that way.  They were assembled with, and then coated with, West System Epoxy (which he found in destructive testing to be much stronger than wood glue or Gorilla Glue).

I would probably put a input dish on those, not just have the speakons right in the wood.  Beautiful Labs though..

I know this thread is getting kind of long. But oh well.  If the OP still wants some (Build Pics) he should chime in. I have pics of every step of the process.

Here is a pic from last weekend.
