Had the pleasure of meeting him, our group had the pleasure of playing and talking on his radio show on WFMT years ago.  A voice of the working class, of the underdog, the everyman, a survivor of blacklisting in the McCarthy era.  Sadly, he had said last week that he was hoping to make it long enough to see Obama elected, but it was not to be.

A few more in his vein would be a good thing.

That is sad.  Did sound for him once at the Cultural Center.  Very cool man.

He lived a wonderful life and gave much to our culture and self-awareness.

I just hope we have more like him in the future (or even now).
