Still not here.

They are to ship out by next Friday (putting them at a 5 week lead time)

I'll post once I get them and have a little time with them.

I've not used those particular units.
However, to address the led-fixture question in general.....I have a dozen of the Chauvet Colorsplash 196(???192??? Can't recal the number exactly, but 19+somthing) which I am VERY pleased with.
There are knockoffs of those fixtures kicking around the internet and going in the $100 range.
Truth to tell, I use mine as wash fixtures, usually all the same color, and use scanners to liven up my scenes by adding complementary colors and beam patterns etc.
My experience with those, and a few other led fixtures I've worked with is similar; great for washes.
That being said, one fixture which does cast a beam, if that's what you're looking for, is the ColorAdo from Chauvet. I'm not advocating buying that fixture as they're quite pricy, but if you can find something else using the same LED bulbs (which is what I'm trying to locate) then you'd definitely be jammin'.

JAM STAR HAS BEEN THE WORSTE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH
I also came across those jam star led par cans.
I had one sent to me (which actually arrived within 3 weeks)
I have tried it out and worked perfectly for up lighting and as a truss warmer and at a low cost of $99 you can't go wrong.
On Aug 13 2008 I put an order for 150 units and was told sent an email stating “Products are made to order and take 10 business days to build. We will e-mail you a tracking number when your order has shipped”

I was also reassured by the sales rep Christopher that the 10 days was all that was needed to complete the order.

After the 10 days have passed and have not received a tracking number. I called and emailed them inquiring on what was happening with my order. When I did finally get a hold of someone I was told they would be done the following week and would have it shipped directly to me.

After that week went by I called again and was promised the date of Oct 8.

That date has passed and when I call the company I am told that the sales rep Christopher is out of town.

Overall I have never dealt with such a poorly ran company who is not only incapable to fill an order but also unable to let their clients know what is happening with it.

The least they could do is ask you to pay for it when the product is made especially if they can’t even GUARANTEE a deadline.

I believe their company Motto should be something along the lines of “Pay now and one day you might get our product”

I am now in the stage of trying to cancel my order with them which I am sure you can assume how hard that’s going to be.

Cancel your order through your credit card if you used one.

Yes, this company is full of promises and can't deliver product.  I waited 2 months for their high power LED to come out which I was promised it would in May.  ...still not out.

They said they had some important job with NASA that took all of their resources.  I'm pretty sure NASA doesn't need cheap LED fixtures for the Space Shuttle.

I know what ya mean. I ordered two of these to test a couple months ago and was told they got slammed with orders so things got backlogged in a hurry and that they have gotten some bad LEDs from their supplier.  Supposedly my lights are set to ship next week.

Oh and the price jumped up to $190 for now but will be at their "regular" price of $250 soon.  When I called checking on my order status, I asked about the price jump and was told that $250 is supposed to be the normal price; the $100 cost was only an introductory offer to see if anyone was interested in their lights.

Wow - pricey

But Im anxious to see how they shine.

The Irradiant LED56 with 97  1/4 watt LEDs still has a MSRP of $79.95.
When mine arrives I'll let everyone know.

I cancelled my order, and asked for a refund.  And asked. And asked.  And asked.  Repeated phone and e-mail conversations.  More than one promise to credit my card, and they even stated the HAD credited my card.  But they didn't.

I finally filed a dispute with the credit card company.

JamStar can file a counter claim in the next 45 days, but I have documentation of unfulfilled promises, no delivery and a credit memo so they won't win if they do.

They lied to me over the phone
lied to me via e-mail
and never delivered the product.
Not the behavior of a company I'll do business with again.
