Clearone (Gentner) has a trade-in program for their (and competitor's) older gear when you up grade to the new Converge lines. You don't have to send the trade-in gear back to them just destroy and document it with digital photos.

So now comes the fun part, what methods of destruction should we use on the 2 units that are being removed? Suggestions so far:

Chop saw
Shotgun
Fire
Drowning (while plugged in of course)
Dragging behind a truck for a few laps around the parking lot.

Any other ideas?

I don't know where you are in the southeast, but if you are in the Atlanta area and you are going to do the distruction in the next couple weeks we have some steamrollers and a few "LAB Room EQ" (TM)'s on site.

I'm in Greenville SC. That's tempting. I might take you up on it but I also found a machine shop just down the street.
I'm thinking press brake, while the unit displays the "Fatal Error" message it occasionally shows.

I'm sure you've seen those videos on Youtube... awesome stuff! I don't plan to go there.

But I did just make some bullets for my 2" potato cannon that are plastic end-caps for paper rolls, filled with sand and sealed with silicone. I hope to test them this week. I would bet they cause some damage, although a piece of rack gear would require several shots. Anyone wants to bring the beer and the target, I'll supply the cannon and ammo... could be a fun afternoon and provide some excellent Youtube material!

We always throw our outdated-and-irreparable gear off of the roof onto the parking lot asphalt.  Usually, whatever-it-is just blows apart into pieces.
