Media player options for PV10 usb mixer
« on: August 13, 2008, 04:11:49 PM »

I am playing most of my music from windows media player via usb from the computer to the peavey pv10 mixer.  Is there a problem with this, or a better player/solution.  I worry about the audio quality ie. if the eq screws with the digital signal or if it gets compressed before it goes out.  What kind of playback software is most commonly used?  I also sometimes play an MP3 through rca imputs.

If your media player of choice doesn't allow you to see and disable all 'extra' processing you should consider another media player. Winamp seems fairly transparent to me, although I've never had cause to use it for anything critical. Also, of course, you should check the control panel for your sound hardware. If you don't know what a certain feature is for, you should probably disable it.
