We're considering the flex system as our new main system for our rental stock. Many ups for the system so far. But do anyone have anyone heard or seen any downsides with it? It would be nice to know as much as possible about the system.

biggest downside:

they are small so engineers who want to see a 8'x20' array of speakers aren't going to be happy.

Smile

just kidding, maybe Steve and company (who have actually used them on gigs instead of just hearing them once) could answer...

Best,
Jason

I haven't heard it yet, but can say this is a downside for sure:

Compared to my general and non-relative perception of what things cost.  Very Happy

Why, oh why, does the price of a simple speaker have to be such a secretive thing?  Someone has asked at least twice - I think in this post - about the price, with no responses.
I dare whoever, no I double-dog dare you,  Razz  to simply let us know a ballpark price one would expect to pay

I'm no dealer, and have no access to pricing information.  But based on what Aspect goes for, I'd expect street price (if you can call it that) would be somewhere around $10k.

Can't speak for prices elsewhere. But 8k dollars for a passive box, and 11,5k dollars a powered box. So yes it costs, but price itself doesn't tell if it's expensive or not. That will be decided by the possibillities the speaker itself has for making income and versatility (have to buy less other systems etc)..

Sondre,
I posted a pretty detailed account of our three day demo here:
http://srforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/m/346087/71/#msg_3 46087
I saw nothing but pluses in the Flex design for our needs.  I ordered 16.

I make no stipulation that this information is accurate, and I have no association with Turbosound in any way, but I came across this on the web:

www.batmink.co.uk/pricelist/Turbosound_Retail_Price_List_Apr il_08.xls

I believe this is in pounds.
