AC and DMX on the same cable?
« on: July 17, 2008, 03:18:18 pm »

Does anyone have a source for a bulk cable that had the 3 conductor DMX lines as well as 16 or 18 gauge, 3 cond. AC line in the same cable.  I'm using LED panels w/ AC courtesy outlets and I want to daisy-chain everything together.  HELP!!!

TMB has a FOH DMX/power snake that is 12ga and a few pair that would work.  Your other solution if buying in builk is to have it made for you.

Cheaper unless in a few thousand feet to buy whats on the market.

Curious on what your concept is given perhaps a say 16/5 or 16/16 type cable might not work for you.   Datta especially on a short run won't have a problem with power next to it.  LED signal that has control with it often even more is just power with signal chopping.

If controlling the LED's is a power cable with chopping of it for control it's still power and not having the problems of parallel to the line power source next to datta source.  Safe enough to run line voltage next to low voltage with signal LED power.

Should work without a problem - only a question of termination.
