Neo Neon
« on: July 12, 2008, 03:41:18 PM »

Has anyone seen this moving head fixture http://ent.neo-neon.com/ they call it a Revo 100 , claim a 100 watt solid state light engine, whatever that is? Is that a single 100 watt white led or is it an array? Apparently they will be branded as Irriadiant here in the US and they have some other LED fixtures....

Irradiant is just the distributor for Neo Neon.

For the price of this unit you might aswell purchase a Martin Mac.

So Martin has a MAC that uses a LED  for a main lamp source?

There are plenty of moving fixtures out there that offer high wattage lamps and at different price points, that was not the crux of this post however it is more questions about the technology use of LED.

What intrigues me about this Neo Neon fixture is the claim to be a 100 watt " solid state light engine" what ever that is and I am trying to find out if anyone has actually seen this fixture in action yet, to see if it is a single 100 watt LED or if it is an array of 3 watt or 14 watt LED's, etc. etc. etc.

Well seeing as the big money companies with huge R+D budgets have nothing bigger than a 5w led out.. I would imagine said "engine" is nothing more than a panel of leds.. and having some experience with  the precursor to neo - Genie - I would say its probably cheap LED's , cheap motors, and crappy wiring that will eventually end up in the shop (many times probably)  Smile

It was my understanding that there were 14 watt LED's out, being used by manufactures such as Chauvet.....

Everything in my catalog and product lit says its a 100W white SSLE.
(solid state light engine)

I've had my hands on several Irradiant pieces but not the REVO.

Hey Rain,

Which lights did you get to play with?  Can you comment on the lights you had your hands on?

How does it compare to a like model from Chauvet or American DJ?
