Behringer DI 20 Question
« on: February 03, 2005, 11:43:21 AM »

Does anyone use Behringer DI 20's? I've got a question about Phantom Powering them.

I used one in 2-channel mode and had phantom power on both XLR's in to the desk. During the soundcheck & rehearsal all was fine. When it came to the time to use them in the meeting, there was no signal at all on those two channels.

Should I just have had phantom on 1 channel? It wasn't obvious from the tiny manual that came with it. The DI box works fine  in link mode, just wary of using it again in 2-channel mode.

Thanks in advance for your help.

it should work with phantom on both channels. at least it has worked for me. it would be pretty stupid if it would go mad with phantom on both channels since most small mixing consoles doesn't have phantom switches on every channel.. and if it has, you probably/hopefully doesnt use a lousy DI20 with it  Razz  Rolling Eyes

I thought it should work fine with phantom power to both channels. I guess someone must have accidentally dislodged a cable elsewhere in the line.

I'll have to try it again though at a less important event...it was one of these last minute "good ideas" that get sprung on us!
