Wireless video
« on: March 25, 2008, 03:59:45 PM »

I have seen wireless video setups before but I am having a hard time finding who makes them.

I thought it was Sony who has them.

It's a 2.4ghz system that transmits video to a receiver that is placed with the display.

Anyone know what I am looking for?

Need more information:
- What type of signal are you looking to transmit?

- What is the source?

- What interface on each end?

- What level quality video do you need?

- What kind of distance?

- Clear line of sight? Same room / different room?

480p

DVD player

Composite or component RCA or BNC

480p

Not sure, it is at a museum.  My wife works there and they want to mount a display with a video of museum donor names looping on it.

- Clear line of sight? Same room / different room?

Again, I don't have all the info yet.

The other option I can think of is they build a nice wooden surround that can house a dvd player in it.

I haven't actually used them and I'm not sure if it's what you were looking for but MicroTek (http://www.microtekelectronics.com/#) and VideoComm ( http://www.videotransmitters.com/index.php?SCREEN=view_catal ogue_level1) have several wireless video offerings.

Does this mean you want wireless video from a DVD player to a monitor?

Knowing the distance and propagation path can mean the difference between a few hundred or a couple of thousand dollars.

Hello Shane,

Why does it have to be a DVD player?  How about a CF card player?  These can plug right into the VGA or video inputs and will happily play all day and night.

We have about 25 of these we use at trade shows and for sports events like the NFL experience.  They work grear and can be set up to loop, push to start or what-not as needed.  You can even throw a still into them

That sounds good.  I was going to create the video and burn it to DVD, but that is a really good idea too.

Thanks again,
