I found this pic and I'd like to see more.  A great hall is a beautiful thing.  Your faves????

The legend said it's "Disney Hall" but didn't say where.

The Disney Concert Hall is the Frank Gehry designed successor to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. That is quite an organ!

Not as big, grand or famous as Disney Hall perhaps, but I'm very fond of this place
The site of some of my best work since about 1972

The building is just over 100years old.  I'm not quite that old, but I have now outlasted five ownerships.index.php/fa/14419/0/

My little neck of the woods has a beautiful 100 year old auditorium:

More info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_Grove,_New_Jersey

The entire town is on the national historic register, and has been featured as a cover story in National Geographic. It is the next town south of Asbury Park on the ocean, and due to the low housing prices in the late eighties and early nineties, the town is an interesting mix of young(ish) musicians, artists, free thinkers, etc. and the old religious folk that have been here forever.

And with no modesty whatever, another picture of the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

It's a little darker than the first photo, but it shows the newer l'acoustics Kudo line arraysindex.php/fa/14420/0/

Lee,  that is such a cool place.  The thing that the pics don't quite convey is the bordello redness.  I haven't been in there since they put in that system.  I'll have to keep an eye out for someone to go see.

Many fond memories of this true gem.

The Phila. Orchestra moved down the road to a new hall after 101 years. Fortunately this hall was kept and is being restored (again).

So ya like big organs, eh?  Laughing

Get a load of this one, the Newberry Memorial Organ in Woolsey Hall at Yale. With over 12,000 pipes (2x the number in the above organ) it is one of the largest in the world. (You should see the size of the 20 hp DC-operated motors that push the air!-Yeah, I've been "backstage")

more than you ever wanted to know about this hulking rig:

That notwithstanding, some of my favorite reminiscences of this venue include performances by the likes of Frank Zappa, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Harry Chapin, and Jimi Hendrix, plus some perfs by the NHSO.

I've only seen a symphonic concert in here but this place is great.  The wild thing is that it's embedded in this modern office building.  So you go up to this glass and concrete bank office like thing, go though this modern lobby and end up here.

I found The National Arts Centre's Southam Hall, in Ottawa, quite impressive:
index.php/fa/14424/0/

But it's fairly young (opened 1969) and there aren't enough women's washrooms (so you see quite a line up at the intermission)
