Cool pic's. You may want to spend a little extra time to run your cords a little neater. Looks like your drummer could slip and hang himself. As if the fear of blowing up wasn't enough  Cool  .

Yeah, I know. Like I said we hadn't planned on using them until I got the truss. Since the club is right near my house, I flew home and loaded them up and we literaly threw these lights up in 15 minutes right before we played.

Messy wiring bothers me too. With my truss, my plan is to have an electrician friend of mine install conduit and banks of receptacles down the length. I'm thinking 2 circuits of evenly spaced outlets. Also, once I figure out the lights and their respective placement I will be using, zip tie or velcra wrap the DMX cables in place along the truss. That should make setup a snap and everything nice and tidy.  Very Happy

Your "pro" ticket might be a single Socapex run with a couple of 6 - outlet breakout bricks with "throughs".

A bit expensive to start, but really convenient and flexible.

4th of July Eve show Thursday night. Set up the complete show as it is now. Shortly after wiring everything up, one colorchanger decided not to work anymore. It powers up and fans spin but no power to the bulb. Arrghhh!

Despite the crappy pics the lights looked amazing. Wow what a difference haze makes! I thought the for sure the owner would bitch but didn't hear a word.

Ordered another Novascan yesterday so that will make 4 flat mirror scanners across the back and a Novascan barrel scanner in the center. ( Not pictured ) I think I may just send the colorchanger in for warranty repair then sell the four of them and buy LED par cans. They look great but being a mechanical device there will be failures. Plus having to change bulbs and  getting into the power draw thing all over again.

Looks great.  What kind of bulb are the Novascans?  I have 2 ADJ Performance Scan 250's and they don't seem anywhere near as bright.  I think I would give up the rotating gobos' for a brighter light!

What are you running for haze in that picture?  Does it gunk up your gear much?

They are the standard ELC 24v 250w lamps. It's all the hazer at work. Without it, you can even see the beams.

The hazer I have I picked up used on ebay for $200. It's an MBT oil based unit and I wouldn't use anything else. as far as gunking up the gear, I had it placed next to one of the light stands last night and there isn't a hint of residue.

Here are some pics from last night.

They had a powerful air conditioning system that zapped the haze somewhat.  I need to add some more to this rig but its getting there.

Thanks David.  Man those Colorstrips look awesome.  I might have to look into a couple of those.

How big of a section of truss did you get and how much did it set you back with the 2 stands and truss fittings?  Do you keep everything mounted on your truss or do you set it up every show?

Looks like the only think you guys need now is to ditch those huge monitors and get some in ears!  Man what a difference it is.

Thank you sir. Its Global Truss, two 6.56 sections of box truss to equal 13.2 feet. I lucked out and got the truss used but the absolute best deal I found when I was searching is here.

http://www.centerstagelighting.com/cgi-bin/online/webapi.cgi ?sc=010&pid=sqcp1&mt=6

Free shipping which is amazing because those stands are heavy.

I'm still working on making the lighting a quick setup/teardown but right now I'm wiring everything which is time consuming. I am pretty sure of how I am going to get this rigged up now though.
