I was spared a first hand account of the game.  The group onstage, although not all originally from Beantown, have lived there many years now, and someone fed them the sad info to announce.

I guess that Manning vs Manning sibling rivalry thing is pretty intense.  Mrs. Manning must have had some interesting times with those two.

Bob, I was really rooting for the Pats, but you're right, they were outplayed.

I'll have a side of creamed corn with my crow please.

My father-in-law and Archie are pals from way back in the day when Archie played and the old man wrote for the local sports page, so my comments are anecdotal, but from a fairly reliable source.  The sibling rivalry was actually Manning vs. Manning vs. Manning, but Cooper (the other brother) had a severe back injury that ended his career before it started.  Archie brought all three boys up to study the game and have the ability to out-think the opponent.  Peyton is the epitome of this.  Eli has a ways to go, but he seems (in my opinion) to be the more athletic of the two brothers.  Love 'em or hate 'em, I think the proof is in the pudding.  The Manning boys are a force to be reckoned with.

And Mrs. Olivia Manning, aside from being one of the classiest ladies you'll ever have the pleasure of sharing time with, does not put up with any shenanigans in her household.  In fact, there's very little that would lead one to believe that their home housed 3 (4?) football greats.

Just my day-after, penny-and-a-half's worth.

I was in a theater just off Times Square in NYC doing technical rehearsals during the game. I just watched the score on the net. The noise when the game ended was huge, and getting home through the crowd something I can live without.

Looks like AOL Sports ran down the tunnel with Belichick.  The last play before "Final" should be the kneel down.

Were you able to recoup the $20 you lost to Bob on the Colts/Pats?

I agree, Bob is taking this very well, as he said he would.

However, if the Pats had won, I don't think he would have piped down quite yet.

So Bob, do you think the Giants will use any JBL gear for their victory parade?

For the record, I participate in a season long football pool.  Although I was rooting for the Giants, my pic in the pool was the Pats and if they had won, I would have won the pool and $150.
