"Dude-- Maximum bass at all frequencies in the monitors"

I kind of like that and now use it with all the musicians.

A female vocalist (who was taking a BA degree in music) was having serious mic feedback problems.....

Eventually, she asked could a second mic be taped to her vocal mic, as that would "double the volume but leave the feedback the same"..... Wink

Okay, it's the last song of the set, I'm doing FOH for a band I work for a lot...

Band's Manager: "Err Joe. Is *lead singer*'s guitar out of tune?"
Me: "Well yes... very much so"
Band's Manager: "Hmmm... is there anything you can do about it?"
Me:  Shocked  Shocked

Don't you have a pitch shifter in your Multi FX?  Wink

Still my favorite of all time, that I actually busted out laughing in front of the guy who asked it...

Me: No, sorry, we don't have side fills.

SR Guitarist: Well, could you turn these speakers to the side?

Me: (Confused) What speakers?

SR Guitarist: The mains.

Me: HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

And if the bass amp wasn't loud enough, what is your point? You think you know what he needed better than he did?

Or how about"The upper mids sound thin" The bottom end needs to be warmer and rounder" or the the monitors sound muffled and need to be clearer. {And Scott Fahy knows who this local singer is!!!}

How about the SSWG (singer songwriter with guitar) that told me the monitor sounded too ORANGE. WTF is Orange?

So I asked her to play an Orange note, She plays an A and I yank out a little 400 and she's happy.

picture big Al from NRBQ, during sound check...

a much younger version of someone who looks just like me asks "how's your monitors Al?"

reply: "Sounds like a peanut!"

"uh, is that good?"

"oh yeah..."

Cool
