Im working a show overseeing audio in breakout room(s) for a convention and had a PRESONUS 24.4.2 stop passing audio.  The scenario:  board worked fine for the last session the previous day (5p-6p), but come the next morning none of the 14 inputs we were using was able to see meters or pass audio.  Disclosure: we left the console burning all night.  We of course recycled the power multiple times, no change.  We updated the firmware per the presonus site by tethering a computer w/ the current release of universal control.  The console went through the firmware update just fine. We cycled the power down again... and still wont pass audio.  We've come to the consensus among the audio team that there had to be some type of internal hardware failure.  Either way, it definitely doesn't make me feel comfortable using one in a crucial setting.... thought i'd just pass it on.

edit:  i should note that all other functionality of the board is still in tact ( all buttons, encoders, vu lights, display screen function ),  w/ the sole exception of no audio being seen.

These things need ventilation.  They cook easily.

They do get toasty for sure, even in cases I wouldn't otherwise see as restricting. Never melted one.... but I bet you could.

Mine sits on a frame I made to give 2" clearance to the table.  I also have a small fan which can move air under it.  Good cooling and regulated voltage make for a "better safe than sorry" scenario.

Meter-schmeter.  It's the constancy of the voltage that matters, not whether its 115 or 122.
These units do not take kindly to voltage fluctuation.  I don't run mine without voltage regulation (Furman AR1215).

Mine can run for days with no special UPS or conditioner.
