Title: QSC PLD4.5 vs Ecler DT6800 (edited title)
Post by: Glenn James on March 30, 2014, 09:52:04 PM
I have some older Ecler DT6800 running my system at the moment.
These are starting to have a few issues and although a show hasn't been ruined yet, I like my reliability.
If somebody has used these before (unlikely I know) how would you compare these to the new QSC PLX4.5?
I run 4 channels per side with my current rig so I can move to a single amp for smaller shows, although I plan on running a different configuration in the future for larger gigs, including bridging channels and using a second amp per side to run the system in a different configuration.
This is the system I am running now http://atprofessional.com.au/products/firebird1000.php and the Eclers seem well matched, although I haven't used anything else to compare it with.

In short, I believe the Eclers are probably not as great as claimed, although they do a good job when working properly, and will the QSC bring my whole system to a new level?

There is no qsc plx4.5! You must be talking about the PLD 4.5 digital amps with 4 channels and signal processing.

You are right, Conrad. Got a dud model number from the supplier.
Will see if  can change the thread title.
