It looks like this amplifier is not supposed to sell below a MAP of $299.99.

A friend of mine running an online store got cut by another amp manufacturer for offering 10% off the MAP at checkout.

$100 / 13lbs.

Looks like a better option than the Pyle/Gemini  $100 amps

Title: Stupid Deal of the Day

Just saw today's Stupid Deal on Musicians Friend, it's an Alto APX1000 power amp. Has anyone used any of Alto's stuff? They've got it for $99 and it's regularly $299. There are no reviews on MF so far. Is it a good deal?

Would it be worth buying one or two of them as monitor amps for a small worship band? I've seen some cheap wedges on Craigslist lately but haven't bought any because we don't have an extra amp. I've also seen some passive subs at low prices so we could use one to push a sub or two. Good idea?

I've got an Alto L12 mixer; its about the same as the equivalent style Behringer or Phonic kit.  I've used (but not owned) some of their 1u rackmount boxes, and the same sort of quality judgement applies.

This is kit at the "value" end of the marketplace.
