Do these exist? Would love to not look at 15 black pouches and wonder which is which?
-
Possibly dumb idea:
When I was in primary school - in the 70's, shutup - there was the one cool kid whose pencil case was a Shure or perhaps EV mic pouch.
Go to your local toy store/stationary supplier and buy coloured pencil cases.
Cheers,
Tim

Perhaps use a sharpie on the label on these?

I really like John's color code idea. Mine are all black with silver Sharpie content notes.

I went to a company that makes promotional items (the kind of place that puts your logo on anything) and had them print my logo on large pencil cases, and then we use a sharpie for the contents.

Walmart has those bank bags in multiple colors.
I bought them for the exact same reason.
They even have some 'double' ones which are useful (I put mic in one side, and ear plugs and crap in the other side).

Mic pouches ? I kinda like opening the box and looking at the mics... I do use pouches for the odd balls. They are easily separated though an e-604 in ouch does not look anything like a 421 or pencil condenser or LDC choral mic.
I bought the box from Audiopile. One of my local competitors made his from a plastic tub and lid from Walmart. He snagged some of the right textured foam and cut Mic body sized holes in it. He’s been at it a long time and has learned to fab stuff I would rather write the check for...

I prefer to have mine in a mic case or drawer. Open the case/drawer, pull out the mic you want, problem solved.
When I do use pouches for mics, I tend to just write what the contents are using a Sharpie and white electrical tape. Replace as needed. I have 19 colors of electrical tape though, so if I want to color code something with tape I can, and I often do, just not mic pouches. I tend to follow resistor code when I color code things.
I also have some colored pouches from these guys. They make several sizes, and they're great.

How about a strip of white gaff tape and a Sharpie marker for the bags you already have.
You can use a different color Sharpie for each type of mic.
Or, you can use a different color gaff tape.
You could go crazy, and use different colored tape AND marker.
Tape and markers are good for lotsa other stuff too.

Forget opaque mic bags. Get these: Clear bank bags. (https://www.officesupply.com/office-supplies/cash-handling/cash-handling-accessories/cash-handling-bags/clear-view-vinyl-zipper/p8915.html?ref=%3Dpla&mrkgadid=3174563128&mrkgcl=609&rkg_id=h-6858b15aa3c2f7e12e778cbdc4b07819_t-1510082567&product_id=8915&adpos=1o9&creative=165796945626&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4YO045et1wIVCmh-Ch392wVPEAYYCSABEgI2tfD_BwE)
You can see what is actually in the bag including things like lav clips etc. It also doesn't matter which transmitter ends up in which bag during load out.

Riley and others-
It's always easier to use "clickable links" instead of just pasting the URL for a web address you like to share. With this super long one (that the forum doesn't wrap correctly) one now has to scroll-back-and-forth to view the thread! I'd sure appreciate people taking the 12 extra seconds to make it a shortened link.
Remember, this is all it takes:
[url=theurlyouwishtolinkto]The Short Link[/url]
So, your link, when using this code:
[url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007TACTCQ/ref=asc_df_B007TACTCQ5253933/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B007TACTCQ&
linkCode=df0&hvadid=167130062341&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14086971387614395708&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&
hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007812&hvtargid=pla-332229737994]Amazon Madness[/url]
yields this result:
Amazon Madness (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007TACTCQ/ref=asc_df_B007TACTCQ5253933/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B007TACTCQ&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167130062341&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14086971387614395708&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007812&hvtargid=pla-332229737994)
Thanks!
Ray
Edited to put some artificial code breaks in so it stops phucking up the width of the page. :)

Amazon has a helpful "Share" by e-mail link that does not actually open your email. Click the envelope icon and a cute overlay will appear, you can copy the short link and share anywhere you'd like. See attached.

I keep thinking this icon in the pasting dialog does that but clearly not.

When you FIRST click that button, you get this:
[url][/url][quote author=Riley Casey link=topic=165367.msg1524691#msg1524691 date=1510091018]
I keep thinking this icon in the pasting dialog does that but clearly not.
[/quote]
So, you either need to also click within the [url] tag to paste =thelink in the right spot, OR... type the text you want as a link, and then highlight it and THEN click the icon you noted. You still have to type the "=yourlink" after the [url tag, but that might be easier. (Personally, I rarely use the buttons, but simply find the URL I want to reference, type [url=*paste my link*]my link text[url] -- I find when I am composing a message, it's quicker for me to do that than to grab the mouse and hunt for the right button to press!)

Resurrect for an update;
Tried these out; I really like them specifically the bit of extra size (vs the standard hand-head mic fare).
Tried three, and just got a second set of four.
My only reservation now is maybe a bit less than half have pretty stiff or 'sticky zippers. It leads me to hope doesn't lead to 'failure.
Likely what I'll do is try to use the stiff' ones for more often 'stowed items (vs more day-to-day stuff.

Rub a little soap on them and it shouldn't.

Paraffin. Rub the zipper with a soft candle or canning wax.

Good ideas I'll try it!
Thank you both.
