Hi guys at Prosoundweb, Some of you guy might have seen my previous survey on the progression of a live sound engineer.
I need your help once more on a final survey.
Please can you find the time to complete the following survey on the "The public views on live music events".
The survey is based around what listeners expect when attending a live event.
Your views would be infinitely helpful as this information will aid me in completing my final year dissertation at university.

Since you asked for help on your survey, I'd suggest you proof read it, there are several obvious mistakes, some of which a simple spell check could have corrected.
What "vocal enhancement technology" do you think can't be "fully repoduced"(sic) live?

That would require the use of autotune which seems common on the Disney channel programmes my daughter used to watch.
My view is that if they can't sing, perhaps they shouldn't be singers.

Maybe I am a bit confused as to the intent of this survey.
The people on this forum are not what you would consider "public attendees of live music" and they work in the industry much more than they attend.
Are you looking for what they "think" attendees would answer?
The reason being that most people here would have different 'agendas" when attending live events than the typical public-therefore making their answers not "typical public view".
But maybe that is just me-------------

Depending on how the data is being sorted, it's possible that the survey may be looking for the difference between what "we" - ie audio professionals - think the public wants, and what the public say they want.
This of course doesn't allow for what the artist or the artist's management wants...

I actually clicked on this thread thinking it was going to be something completely different - as in what does the general public think of live music events, not what do club and concertgoers think.
And how so we as musicians, DJs, and sound providers deal with it? As we're heading into the outdoor summer season, it's always an important subject.
Maybe we should start another thread...
