Registration is closed, but the last headline I saw was they were working out the final bugs at the new place, and once those last few things were done, this would be closed to new posts.

Any time now, the switch should be thrown.

Is that a problem?

What's amazing is that with the notice at the top of the page people are still starting new topics here. Really, it's time to do that at the new site. This one can close at a moment's notice.

The banner is confusing to anyone who is already a member. And nowhere does it say this forum is closing...just less traffic.

What is should say is: THIS FORUM WILL BE CLOSING SOON AND TRAFFIC WILL BE DIRECTED TO THE NEW FORUM FORMAT.

Where have you been for the last 3 months? Under a rock? The fact that this version of the forums is closing has been a major source of discussion since the new version went online to the public in December.

There have been announcements, updated weekly in the yellow banner for a month.

This forum will be closing soon, when we are confident that everything on the new forums is working.

Yeah under a rock..... working 70 hours a week!

Some rock dwellers have a life and don't constantly patrol cyber-space searching to piss on someone.

Your comedic cops avatar is appropriate.

Yes, it's a problem. Of course people are still posting despite the notice, because they CAN.

As an advertiser, I'd like there to be one forum. As a forum member, I'd like there to be one forum to keep track of. To some extent, it's just annoying that what was said was going to happen did not yet happen. I think most of us are aware that overall the transition has not been handled well, and this is another step in that process.

Speaking for Guy, the EH people had to put out a fire elsewhere. There are obviously other web sites they are responsible for.

They are back on it today, should have a resolution shortly.

One of the _main_ things they are working on is making sure ads are served correctly, and I imagine if a site were to be built from scratch with no concern for this, it would go very quickly.

Was that beach used min the new Robin Hood movie?  Looks very familiar.
