I have come upon some stringers at a very reasonable price with STW cable.  Since both are severe use it would seem the thermoplastic is acceptable since oil resistance isn't an issue on an elevated stage.

Thoughts?

It might be a little stiffer especially at colder temps.  One possible issue, do you use hazers much?  From several sources, DF-50's don't play nice with non oil resistant cable. 
Also, how picky is your AHJ?
