Title: Awful translations in manuals.
Post by: Debbie Dunkley on July 09, 2018, 06:57:43 PM
I had to share this. It was posted on my local 'Next-door' neighborhood website. It is an excerpt from the manual that came with an e collar dog security system and is probably the funniest bad translation I think I've ever seen....

Does anyone else have some examples??

Then there was the Yamaha CP 70 manual from the 80s that said that one should “F***” the leg into the socket.

Ha ha... yeah -mine is pretty friendly really. Lots of folks asking for recommendations for contractors, lost dog announcements, furniture for sale and that kind of thing.

All,,

I bought some cheap, plastic blinds at Wally World once and the manual said:  "find center of exactness on window and proceed to uninstall for custom fit". Still makes us laugh.

In the owner's manual for one of the first Roland Guitar Synth controllers, circa 1983 or so, (GR100?) they had settings examples for sounds of different artists.  One of these was for Steve Lukather... however, they spelled it "Steve Lucassar".
