Title: Graphic Equilizer problems PV231
Post by: Helen Kelly on December 27, 2012, 09:17:09 AM
Hi there,
Any ideas on why our PV231eq is blowing the internal fuse?  It was bought new 15 months ago and worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when at one gig it didnt work from the start.  Once we changed the fuse it worked again, then stopped working completely at a gig at the 3rd song.
I'm searching through google and getting myself very confused. Just wondering has anyone ever came across this before?
Many thanks

I suggest not replacing the fuse after it blows a second time.  First time one blows it could be an anomaly, the second time it pops it's telling you there is something wrong, possibly dangerously so!  Bring it to a repair shop before it hurts other equipment, you or someone else!

Thanks Scott, sounds like a sensible thing to do!  Bad time of year for it to happen as we're snowed under over the next week but safety comes first.
We have an option of getting a new pv231 tomorrow but the concern is, will it do the same thing and why did it happen in the first place?    We're just hoping that theres not a bigger problem underneath all this.
Does this happen with Graphic equilizers much?

The fuse is there to prevent fire or worse. It appears to need repair.

No that is not a known or common problem.  AFAIK
