Title: ATA 'Meat Rack' for 4 T-Bars
Post by: Dave Bednarski on June 12, 2017, 08:54:25 AM
I am a lurker on the Lighting Forum but the various threads on cases was very helpful in finding a solution that fit my use case/needs.  Here is the result.

Custom build from St. Louis Case.  Unistrut "meat rack" - I can hang 4 light bars comfortably.  The unistrut can be adjusted left/right and vertically to fit the existing T-Bars and adjustable for future.  Now that I have it in place I will add some padding.

The lid pops off and has plenty of room for at least 4 Ultimate Support TeleLock stands.

Takes up minimal room in the truck and easy to move single person.  Had it out this weekend - major time saver in both directions.

Alex @ STL Case was excellent to work with.

Really like this

With the front latched on - http://dbmisc.s3.amazonaws.com/IMG_1447.jpeg

Def a time saver.  This entire setup is new for me 2017.  I changed my pricing for no lights, 1, 2, 3 or 4 stands.  So I am after the easiest & fastest transport/setup/clean up.

The lights are Blizzard Colorise EXAs.  The rest was a science project.  In hightsight I could have probably done it differently/better but...

ColorSource 20 (or Mac Lightkey App) to Enttec ODE Mk2 -> CAT5 from FOH/Controller -> Network Switch in Amp Rack -> Enttec Ethergate Mk3 -> LightCaster W-DMX -> Fixtures

So far rock solid, no drop outs.  The W-DMX transmitter is in the stage rack and near the light stands.  I run a CAT5 line from my mixer for dedicated data so the Enttec allows the DMX to hitch hike along.

Yes, very nicely done!  Do you mind mentioning how much this cost to have made?

Looks great! I homebuilt a toploading case for a pair of bars as a similar concept. Don't forget slabs of higher density foam between each pair so the pars don't slap into each other.

I'm also interested in the price of something like this.  Looks really useful if cost-effective...

To have one made would be expensive.  A good route would be to find an old mixer case and do the mod yourself.

Way to go Dave, now my LD is making me get a couple for my shop...this looks fantastic.

Thanks for the great ideas.
