Hey I just got a pair of used Meyer UPA's
Running tone through them I notice distortion at 1.42K on 1 and the other has the same noise at 1.5K
I'm guessing this is right around the crossover point so it may be inherent issue.
With music and pink it's not noticeable
Are these diaphragms wasted or just badly beat up or is this a know fact about this box?

Sounds like an issue particular to those drivers. I have used many UPA's from multiple companies and have never experienced any issues similar to what you have described

Which UPA's??? UPA-1 or UPA-2 ???
The 1's cross over @ 1200, the 2's @ 1000.
Try to test BEFORE you buy...

Distortion at one specific frequency usually indicates the diaphragm needs to be aligned and/or the gap cleaned.
Many people just slap diaphragms in without doing the alignment process, so distortion often does not mean the diaphragm itself is bad, though the rubbing can cause eventual damage.
Those drivers may use ferrofluid, in which case cleaning probably will require a new dose.

It's probably bad/worn/tired drivers.
Meyer does not sell diaphragms, just drivers. So if you buy from the source you don't have to worry about doing proper alignment.

Never had an issue like that with them. I have 6 that are a dozen years old and ridden hard. Getting on the bad driver band wagon.
