Here are some stringer options from LEX Products (http://www.lexproducts.com/products/entertainment/powerflex-cable-assemblies/multiple-receptacle-extensions).

The company I work at uses the Lex 20A E-String Orchestra stringer.  It's thick, not SOOW, and has molded connectors, but they seem sturdy and I think have lights on the outlets so you can tell they're live.

I'll see how they hold up.

Windsor is a great product.  Here is another.
http://whirlwindusa.com/catalog/power-electrical-distribution/edison-boxes/pl1-420-bk

what you see in both of these is work around for the fact that it is not "code" to plug an extension cord into a extension cord using normal "edison" plugs

+1 on the Whirlwind extension boxes. You can specify whatever length you want for the PowerCon cables. Plus these things are build heavy enough to chock the wheel of your truck or beat down a hoard of zombies (with all due respect to zombies everywhere).

The E-String is what I was looking for. The OA Windsor stuff is so awesome, but i cant justice the expense at this time.

Is there any were that sells just the "Edison connector through"    I already have a spool of soow and in the past I have made all my cables custom.  If i could just get the connector with the through I could accomplish my task much cheaper.

You mean the female connector on the end?  NEMA 5-15R.  If you want an indicator light it will cost a lot more.

No, i have female ends, I mean something that i can replicate the connectors in the middle. other than a metal ( or rubber )  duplex box

Those are molded onto the cable and I've never seen any that weren't.  You either buy the assembly or build your own with boxes.

The lex e strings should be around $85, so cheap for what they are, and cheaper than you can buy the parts for the most part.  If they aren't around $85, find another lex dealer.  If you buy 6, lex will ship them in the box from their manufacturer and you will see that they are a custom run from a company that makes a very similar product in yellow for construction job site use.

CBI sells the MOX cables in a variety of gauge & length. I'm a dealer if you need them quoted.

Just be aware that a lot of the in line stuff is SJT and when cold does not fan out real well on stage, etc. We have gone with SJOOW or SOOW for all our stringers and cables...nothing worse than having a cable stand up when you need it to lay flat...the CBI stuff is OK, but again when cold and bundled for some time will be the devil to get it to lay down flat. We make customs with Leviton Boxes PM me for pricing, can do in any config you want...

John,  I have a small green version of the mutli outlet cord  and yes, when it gets cold it gets very firm and wont lay very well.  I forgot about that, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

We have 8 weather proof quad box's with male and female leviton pig tails, and we have custom power cables ,soow w/ leviton ends. I have a bunch of ends left over. I think I am just going to make more quad boxes and just use standard boxes instead of the much more expensive weatherproof ones. Ill use the weather proof ones for stage drops, and use the new cheaper ones for other duties.
I already have some what of a power cable system. I should just build on that.  The OA windsor stuff is so awesome, but I really cant justify that with the amount of shows we do each month.

Thanks for all the help guys.

It depends on the model. I have some of their 16 gauge stringers that are pretty stiff, but the 14 gauge and 12 gauge that I have from them is completely flaccid.
