Title: Soundcraft Ui software
Post by: Douglas R. Allen on April 09, 2017, 07:43:11 PM
I was looking at the software demo here.

For those who currently are running a Ui mixer how do you set the other settings on the gate? Does it only have threshold?

Thanks for any information.

Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain sliders all apply to the Compressor, as does the Hard/Soft Knee button (in addition to Threshold).

The Ui12 and Ui16 only have Threshold control for gate. The just released Ui24R has more comprehensive controls and separate Tabs/pages for Gate and Compressor.

They say the demo for the Ui24R will be online soon.

Wal Mann;

Thanks for the reply. Without a desk surface to try I didn't know if this was just with the mobile app or the desk had all the other features and you could only adjust the threshold with the app.

Following. I've been using a ui16 since they were new. I'm eagerly awaiting the reviews, firmware patches, etc. on the ui24 so I know whether to upgrade in that direction or switch systems entirely.

If the ui24 software offers more control, the preamps are "truly" better and not just rebranded, etc., I'd like to stick with it. I actually like the layout of the software - or maybe I'm just very used to it. Either way, that's a plus in its favor.

Hi Douglas and all,

The Ui24R software demo is online now.

http://www.soundcraft.com/ui24-software-demo/mixer.html

It seems pretty close to the actual user interface.

As to Seth's question about the Preamps, I heard a demo unit at a trade show in February and they seemed much quieter.

The Ui24R is shipping now to some US customers, some are posting their impressions and findings on the Ui24R Facebook group.

I have one complaint about this mixer. I can't delay my auxes, or at least I have not found a way, nor any info on it.

Above the solo button (above the fader) when either the mix master faders are displayed or a mix is selected for edit.

You have to type in the delay you want, no slider.
