We pulled a trip of old EV Stage System 200 speakers from a health club a couple of days back. When the grills came off, this is what was left. Power was modest, a Crown MT600.
Nothing survived except a pair of tweeters.

A set of very similar systems with limiters have survived intact. Proper limiting, especially when untrained people handle microphones without supervision, can lead to disaster. Thankfully we're not the installers, just the local maintenance company.
