Title: yorkville 1208 drivers and the b&c tbx100 whats the difference?
Post by: Steven warner on November 13, 2012, 05:07:42 PM
i have a set of 1208's that i rarely use anymore and I was thinking since they areent worth much i may use the drivers in this b&c design box since i could use a good set of singles http://www.bcspeakers.com/suggested.php?id=0000000008

I had in mind there was a thread about the tbx100 being very close on the old forums but I cant find it.   Thoughts?

Are you talking about the Yorkville LS1208? These are worth around 1000$ for a used pair. Guess that could buy you the right drivers that you require without gambling with the wrong drivers.
I have a pair of ls1208 myself and i think the woofers they load in there are Italian made possibly by RCF!

A lot of Yorkville drivers are custom spec'd.  Sometimes they are built using a similar basket as the mass production units.

You might try contacting B&C about this:

 [email protected]

... and let us know if they answer you (and what that answer is) because I have a similar situation. I have a couple of B&C neo drivers taken from 808 cabs and sold to me for $150 apiece because the owner is convinced that neo is crap. I've got them in cabs untuned to the drivers at present that I use for non-critical gigs (sound OK) but would like to build these cabs for them too if it's a fit.

FWIW I built a couple of B&C cab designs for a pair of their 21s (21SW152s) and the results are awesome! These are very solid designs.

And very solid drivers.
