I run a PA rental outfit and have a fleet of lapel/headworn wireless systems with beltpacks. I recently got a call to provide the Lapel wireless systems for someone doing some filming. I have had no experience with interfacing the the XLR connectors on my receiver unit with a camera. I simply asked if there was going to be a mixer at the location but the dude didn't seem to be a technical guy and didn't know. Guess he was just an actor or so.
So my question is, what external interfaces are required to use a beltpack wireless system with a recording camera? I have heard of some contraption called a Zoom recorder but don't know anything about it.....

If the recording is being done in the camera, and the camera needs to move, we generally use a battery powered receiver designed to mount on the camera.
These are most ofetn called ENG kits. (Google it)
Most pro cameras have an XLR input for line or mic level.
If the camera is stationary, you could use rack mounted receivers and send to the camera via the XLR out of the receiver or the output of a mixer.
If it's a DSLR, you might have to adapt to a 3.5mm TRS connector.
