WOW!!!!!Yorkville LS700P Powered Subwoofer
« on: February 16, 2007, 08:51:17 PM »

Okay, so I have been researching for a sub that is small, sounds very good, and not too heavy! I FOUND IT!

I decided to go with the self powered dual 10” system by Yorkville. It is the Elite LS700p. This thing rocks! Don't judge before you hear because of the 10" woofers. I did some side by side tests.' This will blow away just about any single 18" subwoofer unless size is not an option. It KILLED the Community dual 15" setup I had before. In fact I thought just the one Yorkville small cabinet sounded better than all four 15's. I'm telling you all; please give it up to Yorkville on this one. This is the most amazing sub I have come across, considering how small and portable it is. AND IT’S POWERED! The best part about the whole tings is that it’s less than $800 shipped.

If anyone else has heard this or would like to comment on my post, feel free!

Thanks,
Justin

They're good little subs, but the LS608(Yorkville) will kill it. The ls800P is even an improvement on it. Its a nice little sub to fill out the bottom end in small clubs or coffee shop type things, but I'd rather have a real sub in any demanding environments.

I have a LS700P and love it. Ok, it isn't for the Rock gigs but in it's place it does super.

I wouldn't put it up against a dual 18 or even the LS800P but why would you? It is for a different place. It certainly outperforms a single Mackie SWA1501 and isn't as heavy.

that sub does rawk, I use one for drum fill. If you sit it next to the drummer  and throw a wedge on top it kills. size power price sound ..........it might be one of the best ever. Obviously a sub this small has limits but in the right aplication it is simply amaizing. if only it wasnt blue and fuzzy ..........

When Paul says, "blow up" he means it.  I'll bet that his uses tend to be well implemented but very demanding, too...

Have fun, don't blow up your new sub.

I have used the LS700P, and agree with the opinions that it is very good for it's size and price.

Last time, I used it, it was one LS700P with a pair of NX55P tops, and the sound quality was great.

However - did you get a change to look at the NX720S? If so, what did you think?

The NX720S is a single 15" sub with a bit better range, a bit less kick but smoother and more musical sound when used for playback of recorded music. Plus, it is about 25 pounds lighter. As with the LS700P, it needs to be matched to reasonable expectations, but if used where appropriate, seems pretty nice.
