Apex Microphones?
« on: December 09, 2006, 10:23:50 PM »

Does anyone have any particular opinion on these mics? They're not really around a whole lot on the web merchant sites, but I have seen a couple products of theirs that interest me, such as their measurement microphone and the matched pair of SDC that can be had for about $118.

Why do I need cymbal overheads? I'll just use SM58s on the vocals.

Apex makes mics that are about on par with other budget mic manufacturers.  They are distributed by Yorkville I believe.  I have used some of their drum mic kits etc and they were usable, but not outstanding.  Never used the measurement mic but I would guess it would probably be ok for many budget applications.

If that's what works with your budget and requirements then you should be ok.  It won't be perfect but it'll work and their build quality seems decent.

Cheers
Jeff
