I used SGM fixtures for a tour and they performed perfectly.  I was impressed with the intense amount of light output and how durable they were.  I never had a single fixture need maintenance.  I am in the design phase of another tour and plan on using them for this project.

Dan,

What model SGM's did you use?  What's being recommended to use is the IDEA line of SGM's.  I'm not sure how they compare with the Robe 575's that we currently have.

Thanks.

I have only used the Giotto line of moving lights and I believe the IDEA line is relatively new.  The IDEA line is just a scaled down, more economical version of the Giotto line.  I would still fell comfortable using them and I am sure they are just as well built but without all the bells and whistles.  Just look at their website for the specs to compare.
