CE4000 Trouble
« on: August 09, 2005, 12:03:30 AM »

Hey All,

Tonight at work we lost a CE4000.  It got stuck in fault mode (wouldn't come out of it at powerup.)  This all comes shortly after we lost a couple of subs attached to it  (JBL 2242, 2 per channel.)  I know, I know, underpowered as all hell.  Anyone have any potential causes/solutions to the problem?

Who ever thought a CE-powered Vertec rig was a good idea?

Hello Jim-

I had a CE2000 running a couple of wedges that did the same thing to me a month ago.  It just went into fault mode on power up one day, no warning.

A friend of mine that works at a local music store said they have had the CE's come back from customers off and on with this problem for the last year.

I sent it back after a brief investigation of the obvious things on the circuit boards.  No burnt/blown looking components.  Maybe someone else has put one on their bench and go down and dirty with it and can help you more.

Crown always takes care of their gear, but it's still a hassle...
