What mics do I use?
« on: May 22, 2004, 09:44:16 PM »

I am a dancer as well as a sound tech and I was wondering what to use to mic the floor when I dance. I'd be dancing on hard plastic with my tap shoes. Any help you can give would be nice. Smile

Is this live or for Recording.
Live It depends on your dist away.
maybe a sm-94
sm-57
Record you could use the same but you don't have feedback issues so a good condenser mic in a shock mount would be good about >3 feet away.

It would be live for a youth event.

For the fiddle and stepdance crowd, a Crown PCC on the floor in front of the dancers' feet is the usual solution.
