How our Gear's Getting to Cleveland from LA

Bad image, but road case that holds 3 guitars and 1 pedalboard. Loaded on the truck Wednesday, arrives in Cleveland Thursday.

2nd case has keyboard, snare, bass POD and double drum pedals.

This was before they closed the lids and put them in the truck; not sure if they used bubble pac; I'll let you know how they fare when we get to Cleveland Thursday night. Much happier that we did this vs. trying to fly with all of it. There may be some jostling, but fingers crossed. We also slacked the strings just in case.

What about cymbals? Is the venue providing them?

Venue (Rock & Roll hall of fame) is providing backline, including Yamaha studio 5-piece kit; our drummer wanted his DW snare and stand to be comfortable; our drummer's DW kit is nice; cymbals need upgrading so he'll be happier with what they have.

silly pictures of the band posing for cameras as well as a video of us playing an original at facebook.com/thetoysband.  If anything, we try not to be pretentious...

Got it.  Just checking, since lot of the time, backline provides tubs, but not plates.

Good point - we made sure we checked ahead of time, especially since I'm not the drummer.

8 bands in the Battle of the Corporate Bands finals; 30 min soundcheck/show in the afternoon, and then 15 minute judged set in the evening. Fingers crossed.

Glad you took the tension out of the strings. Be sure to retune and play them in long before the gig, and best of luck to you and the band.

Bob, FWIW every electric bass I've shipped or received took the trip with the strings tuned up to pitch, and I've never had a problem; this seems to be the consensus over on talkbass.com as well.

I'll be the first to admit that what works for electric basses may not work for other stringed instruments. That said, I've been playing, buying, and selling electric basses since 1968.
