Join us for an evenings' look behind the scenes at CTV.
From Production, through Post to Distribution and Transmission, we'll look at the efforts to transition many of Bellmedia's specialty services to HDTV as well as ongoing preparations for the London Olympics.
Following a facility tour, the presentation portion of the evening will discuss CTVs move towards broadcasting using an all-discreet infrastructure, as well as technology and workflow implications as the broadcaster responds to a lengthy list of increasing demands. Topics covered will include File-based contribution, Descriptive Video, and Loudness-based signal handling in response to ATSC A/85.
The evening will be hosted by Paul Sellers (Manager, Audio Operations), Michael Nunan (Post Sound Supervisor) and Joshua Tidsbury (Post Sound Mixer and Apple Systems Specialist).
Paul, Michael and Joshua are well known to the AES as outspoken advocates for advancing the State of the Art in Television Sound, specifically with regard to large-scale use of Surround Sound production.
All 3 are deeply involved in every aspect of Audio at CTV, from facility, infrastructure and production design, through Training and Production/Post/Distribution Operations.
Paul, Michael and Josh are joined for the evening by Bob Miles, Manager of Olympic Audio Engineering. As London 2012 rapidly approaches, Bob will be able to offer some insight into the complex preparations now taking place at the Agincourt facility to enable Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium to undertake next summers' highly anticipated Games.

This meeting is sponsored by Sennheiser Canada.
