For me the choice is simple.  With the UX8800 processor, it can be run at war volume and not blow up.  Enter a few details like input sensitivity, ohm load and output power, and the processor takes care of EQ and limiting, both excursion and thermal.  YES it prevents you from squeezing the last .5 dB out of the cabinet but it will work show after show.  As always, if you need more output - add more boxes.
